FULL PAPER SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
(you must read all 4 steps)
1. IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE PAPER UPLOAD:

The paper submission deadline is 29th, March 2009. There will be no extended deadline!

Any author who has not received the acceptance notification email should contact the Technical Program Chair immediately at this address: techchair@oceans09ieeebremen.org

A word of caution for Firefox/IE/Mozilla/Opera users: Some users have reported problems uploading their papers when using named browser. Should you experience such problems, try uploading first using a different browser. If the problem persists, please report it at: techchair@oceans09ieeebremen.org

Please remember to confirm receipt of the acceptance email by clicking on the link identified within the acceptance email and entering your login information.
2. WHAT YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND:
The OCEANS'09 paper submissions will be implemented in the Proceedings of the Conference and in the IEEE Xplore® database, build on PDF eXpress documents. Mandatory, your paper have to be compliant with PDF eXpress, which is not guaranteed only by creating a PDF-File from your document out of your application!

3. INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAPER PREPARATION:

Compose your manuscript. The paper should not exceed 10 pages, including figures. The paper must be in US letter size (8 ½ by 11 inches). Please do not include blank pages at the end of the paper.

Compose your paper in accordance with the formatting and style requirements established for the Proceedings of the Conference (see attached templates). To assist you in the preparations of your paper, we have prepared the following downloadable instructional templates:

Proofread and check the layout of paper (it is highly recommended that you do this BEFORE proceeding to the next steps).
Once you have completed this process, you will need to upload your paper in the IEEE PDF eXpress format. IEEE PDF eXpress is an online tool that will convert your document into a PDF format that complies with IEEE Xplore®.
Please go to the IEEE PDFexpress site at:
Click on the link „New Users – Click here“ and fill in your information. You will need to use the conference ID which is:

Please read through this information carefully, and contact pdfsupport@ieee.org or via phone at +1-732-465-5888 for technical questions concerning the use of IEEE PDF eXpress.

Following the instructions after logging in to IEEE PDF eXpress, upload your PAPER-SOURCE File for conversion into PDF eXpress (highly recommended) or your own created paper-PDF file for compliance checking.

Once your paper is properly formatted/converted, you will receive a certification email from PDF eXpress (please be patient, this process takes 5 to 20 minutes). Your PDF eXpress-compliant paper will be included as an attachment to this email. This will be the file you upload to the conference web site.

You are now ready to go to the paper upload site.
4. FINAL PAPER UPLOAD

Submit your final PDF eXpress-compliant document via the Abstract Submission page identified in your acceptance e-mail, using the login information listed within that email. The deadline for all submissions is March 29th, 2009. (Please ignore the submission deadline date contained in the IEEE PDF eXpress message; that date is for another administrative purpose).

Allow time to familiarize yourself with the formatting (IEEE PDF eXpress) and uploading process (you are allowed up to three uploads). Manuscripts sent via email to the conference chairs will not be accepted.

The paper upload process will automatically take you through the submission of keywords and the electronic copyright transfer process before you upload your PDF eXpress compliant paper.

You may verify receipt of your paper by downloading it from the site. We will not send an email acknowledgement. Receipt of your manuscript by this Conference together with the IEEE PDF eXpress certification email constitutes release for open publication. No cancellation of such release is permissible.

Any paper not accompanied by a full conference registration (early-bird fees) will be withdrawn from the final program, from the conference proceedings, and from the technical program of oral presentations. The registration must be accomplished by March 31st, 2009. One-day and student registrations are not sufficient for inclusion of papers in the regular program.

Oral presentation of the paper at the conference is required for the paper to be published in IEEE Xplore, the online database. Failure to present the paper at the conference will result in withdrawal of the paper from the published Proceedings of OCEANS '09 IEEE Bremen.
